A Day Out With Thomas--A Giveaway!

By Molly Bice-Jackson - 9:39 AM

Thomas the Tank Engine rolling along....

They're 2, they're 4, they're 6, they're 8.
Shunting trucks and hauling freight.
Red and green and brown and blue, they're a really useful crew.
All with different roles to play, round Tidmouth sheds or far away.
Down the Hills and round the bends...Thomas and his friends.

I really want to sing that song as my audition song for a show someday. If you are singing along with me in your head, then that means you have a Thomas fan living in your house. And that means you need to win 4 tickets to A Day Out With Thomas! For real.

Heber Valley Railroad is anxious to give a set of 4 tickets to one of my readers. All you need to do is leave a comment telling me a bit about your Thomas fan. Also, share the link to my blog (doesn't need to be this specific post) on your Facebook page with a little ditty about how you enjoy reading my blog. (Yes, this is so I can get more readers so I will have a larger audience for when my book comes out!)

Let us review:

-A Day out With Thomas hosted by the Heber Valley Historic Railroad (starting in Heber City, UT)
-It is approximately a 25 minute train ride with a chance to meet Sir Topham Hat and get your photo with Thomas
-Activities and booths with prizes and free games
-Thomas memorabilia
-Smiles and memories galore!

-Leave a comment about your Thomas lover
-Link to my blog on your Facebook page (maybe link to one of your favorite posts I've written, or my Deseret News article...whatever.)

Winner will be chosen THIS FRIDAY and tickets will be redeemed for use on Memorial Day weekend.

Bust my buffers! I hope you win.

  1. Thomas is literally getting my little pirate thru chemotherapy. He not only loves Thomas, but he also loves building the little wooden tracks. Before he started his first treatment a friend gave us a duffle bag full of Thomas tracks and trains that her sons have outgrown. They are his "doctor's house" treat. For now, he only gets to play with them when he is in the hospital for his chemo treatments. Since physical activity is such a huge part of healing, we bring the tracks and trains as a motivation for him to get out of bed and run around the room. He spends hours down on the floor building tracks and running the trains. His case manager nurse also gives him Thomas sticker and activity books that she buys with her own money because she knows how excited he gets (and because she thinks he's adorable) but that's another story for a post about how awesome the staff at Primary Children's can be.

  2. We are going to be in Utah for Memorial Day visiting family! The only thing that would make trip more fun is going on Thomas. My son and nephew are Thomas and train fanatics! I would love take them so they could get to know each other better with us living in Washington! Sounds like so much fun! My son has never been on a train and I have only been once so we would live to win!!

  3. Molly! My name is Jessica Bench. I have three kiddos, ages 6, 4, 2. My four year old and my 2 year old are boys, who are CRAZY fans of Thomas. We have always wanted to take our kids to A Day Out with Thomas, but it has never worked out. So, hopefully now it will! ;) Kyle (my four year old) has been Thomas for 2 staright Halloweens, and Jake (my two year old) lovingly refers to Thomas as "Mias!" Kyle's favorite song is "Determination." "Don't give up, show determination, don't give up you'll be a big Sensation!" Haha. That is the only singing debut I will ever do. It is a pretty sweet song. He runs around in his Thomas unders siging the Thomas songs all the time... I have video taped him doing so. It is priceless. He is Hill.Air.Eee.Us. They watch Thomas episodes all the time, and can I just say I was SO happy when they actually started to talk and move their mouths?! Having only their eyes move while someone else's voice spoke for them was always a little creepy. Right?! We got almost all of the Thomas trains on loan from my generous Sister-in-law, and Kyle and Jake got them for Christmas last year alongside a train table. Those trains have had their pistons puffing ever since, and I can promise you that James is still a Bossy Boiler! Anyways, I love your blog. I have been following it ever since you lost your sweet Angel Lucy. I have cried and laughed out loud through the words you speak, I have prayed for you, and you can bet I will be one of the first in line to buy your book. You have strengthened me and, putting Thomas aside, I am very grateful that I finally get the chance to say thank you. Have a great day!

  7. My Thomas lover....my Thomas lover is sweet, sassy and everything in between. Driving down I-15, every time, he points out every train and Front Runner zooming by and excitedly yells "Thomaaaas!" He loves him dearly and being the fierce mother that I am, I want to give him the world....which would be a ride on Thomas and meeting grumpy old Sir Topham Hat :)

Love your blog, so much. Really.

  18. I have THREE Thomas lovers in our house! Our oldest (3 - almost 4!) has introduced his love of trains to his younger (twin - age 2) brothers. We perpetually have a track laid out across the family room, and recently gave in and purchased 3 Thomas trains - they share everything but the Thomas!
