She just turned 80 and she threw herself a giant bash. It was a blast! It just might win "party of the year". I'll let you know once 2013 is over.
It was held at St. Mary's Catholic church here in Park City. Every corner of the room had a different spread of food. Make-your-own-milkshake stand, a full-service bar, a D. J., a photo booth...we had a ball. And the best part was seeing all the 80 yr. olds get up and shake their booties!
That's how I want to live. I want to make it to 80 and party it up. I was so impressed with the support of her friends. We live a lifetime here together--some of us are here for a long time, others just a brief stay. But we are here...together. We trudge through messy mortality and if we make it to 80 we deserve to celebrate! It was lovely to see so many people living this moment to the fullest--loving their friend and mother, grandmother, neighbor, and all-around sassy pants.
