As the years go by, I grow fonder and fonder of Valentine's Day. I didn't really have anything planned for this year, but somehow it all came together and I had a wonderful day with my little loves. So wonderful.
I thought I'd run to the store and get some chocolate for my chocolate loving husband...maybe write a cute card to go along with it. That's when I had the brilliant idea to do a cheesy candy bar poster. I have to say---I'M PRETTY AMAZING because it turned out great and I still laugh about it.
I set the table and made curried brown rice with salmon and asparagus. The salmon marinade is to DIE FOR and works like a charm every time.
Do it. (Thanks, Rachael!)
Vic greeted me at home with a dozen roses (he usually does tulips but they were all out--Vic may have cried. For real. He loves the memory of giving Lucy her first flowers from a boy on Valentine's Day. We have such sweet photos of her smelling the tulip he gave her).
Peter helped me set the table (his favorite chore) and I turned on some soft love tunes and we ate by candlelight together. My heart was close to bursting.
Vic is still waiting to cash in on the poster promises--sorry, babe. I've been so tired!
