I Won't Name Names....BUT....

By Molly Bice-Jackson - 1:10 PM

A certain buddy of mine uses the potty these days!!!!!

After being at this parenting thing for six years, I finally have a child who can dispose of his bodily fluids and waste in a civilized manner. I thought I had "arrived" when we had our own washer and dryer back in the day, but no--I see now that arriving means that all bodily waste in your household goes into the toilet. I see why it is called "The Throne"---there is nothing more royal.

This little guy is my buddy and I am madly in love with him. It blows me away to see him learning new concepts, responding to discipline, gaining new skills, and becoming more and more independent. He sleeps in a big boy bed these days and has quiet time in his room. He's not perfect, but he's SO MUCH FUN.

I can't wait to see what the coming years bring. Rock on, potty boy!!

(I didn't use his name once).

  5. Yeah! My husband and I were just talking the other day about how one of the painful things about loosing your oldest at a young age (or any age probably) is that you feel like your life goes backwards. I know I often felt "stuck" at a certain phase of life because I "should" have been moving on, but I wasn't. It is a bitter/sweet moment when you finally realize life is moving forward and you are and will experience new things with your kids!
