I'd Like to Hear From My Husband

(He was getting serious about time out with Peter here...)

I've drawn a blog blank the past few days. I don't feel I have much to say (I'm just basking in the pleasure of being NOT SICK. NOT SICK is one of the best feelings in the world--along with the feeling you get after a long, beautiful run with great music, OH, I can't wait)!

So this is my thought: I really want Vic to do a blog. It's been a while since we've heard from him. I think it would be good for him. He's a great writer and I love reading his perspective. Wouldn't you agree, ladies?

He could share his thoughts/feelings about having another little girl. He could tell you about the book my bestie, Amy Hackworth, co-wrote with Nie Nie--Heaven is Here--and how much we love it. (I mean...WOW. We can't put it down. How many of you have a bestie whose book is in the top 15 New York Times bestseller list? It is just too cool!) He could tell you his feelings about Peter these days. Maybe he could tell you how much he misses Lucy and the sad dreams he has that give him heartache.

He could tell you  how much weight I've gained and how I crave soda non-stop--which is bizarre and a half. He could tell you how hard he works for his little family and how great he looks for being almost 40! You know...just random things of that nature.

Don't you think that would be good? What do you think, honey?

If you'd like to hear from Vic, leave him a comment and tell him so. (Dumb, I know... but sometimes I use bribery and peer pressure).  I think it would boost his spirits and give him a little project to look forward to. I'll even let him blog about Mitt Romney or Glen Beck or whatever he wants!

  2. I would like to hear a man's perspective on postpartum life. What are Vic's favorite things about the time right after a baby is born? What are his not-so-favorite things about adjusting to the new family member? And most importantly - how is he going to surprise Mollie with some sweet act of kindness or gift after the birth of their third child?

  6. Yes!! I'm currently doing an interview with my husband (over email) for my own blog and it's so fun. Maybe you could do an interview too? That way you could ask him all that stuff! Just a thought. In any case, I'm sure it will be awesome. I remember when he used to post here fairly frequently--he's a great, insightful writer, like you. I can't wait to read his thoughts.

  8. Come on in Vick. Haow arr yew? (I'm from Louisiana) whuts goin on? Do you think about that real little human bean that's a total mashup of you and your wife? A total person. What does it mean to hold that couple of pounds of sugar and think about the endless possibilities you have there in your hands? Is it more a miracle or a heavy responsibility?may all the blessings in the skies above rain down on you.

  9. She's struck genius this time Vic. It is definitely something we ladies would enjoy. You're family...just like Molly and Peter and Lucy. I would truly enjoy it...Mitt Romney, Glen Beck and all!

  10. Yes Vic we want to hear it all!!! We love hearing from both of you. Vic you can bravely set the example of looking down the barrel at 40. I love to remind Scott of this fact every day, multiple times per day if possible. It is a sure thing for making him crazy, one of my main goals in life. :) Megan Fera

  15. As one who spent many a morning running and fighting with Vic about politics, I vote a firm "no" on the political blog post. Vic has so many other redeeming qualities (thank goodness) to cancel out his bad political views, I want to hear all about those. P.S. Vic, I found the 3x5 card the other day, when I made you write good things you liked about me after a particular doozie of a political debate. Yes, I still have it. I will make you and Mollie banana bread, really good banana bread, if you DO NOT write a political post. And I would consider treats monthly for a year if you never utter GB's name again EVER.
