Luxury Time for Mom

I love reading reviews of products from people I trust. Who isn't looking for something wonderful that will change their life? Or at least make it easier, more beautiful, more manageable, more exciting.

I don't know if you trust me, but you are going to get a review from me. That's half the battle right there.

Darphin Skin Care.

Heard of it?

Neither had I, until recently.

I must start by making a clear declaration: My skin is like my heart and my emotions -- SENSITIVE.

I don't think people would use descriptions such as, "You know Molly, the short one with big eyes and bad skin..."

But they definitely would never say, "You know Molly, the short one with big eyes and beautiful skin."

It's just something I've battled with most of my post-pubescent life. It's never been horrible, but it's never been CONSISTENTLY good. And I deserve consistently good. I'm 34 yrs. old! Time to stop with the teenage breakouts. And now I've got crows feet to worry about. Let's find something to stop the madness, shall we?

This is where Darphin Skin Care comes in. These products are from their "luxury" skin care line and I can see why -- It truly feels like a privileged moment between you and your skin.

Here's the low-down on the products I've tried and am continuting to use:

Wrinkle corrective eye contour cream: YES! Like I said, I'm just starting to show the signs of aging and must attack the issue while I'm still "in my youth." I have big eyes and heavy eyelids, I need a product like this.

Let me interrupt here and tell you that all of these products are made in Paris. So I feel pretty fancy using them. And with me being sick for so long (I mean SICK!) and hugely pregnant, my time spent with these beauty products are the best part of my day. Just look at the packaging. Its fabulous. Reminds me a bit of Tiffany jewelry. These products bring a little bit of French glamour into my everyday life.

Anti-wrinkle cream: I came to the conclusion to only use this on my neck and forehead due to my sensitive skin. It is a bit "perfumey" for me. But I love knowing I am using a high quality product on my neck. My friend's mother told me you can tell a woman's age by her neck.

Here is a before photo two weeks before I started using the products:

(like I said...sensitive)
My absolutely favorite, that I did not expect to fall in love with, is the Refreshing Toner. I am truly in love! I've never been a faithful toner user. I've not seen the point. It tends to strip my skin and leave me feeling dry. But this stuff is some sort of miracle dream. I was truly shocked. It soothes my skin and leaves it feeling so fresh and NOT IRRITATED. It's made with fig extract and banana tree flower so it smells divine.

An "after" shot. Look how much less irritated my skin looks. Its even cleared up quite a bit. I swear by that toner!

Age-defying lip balm: I have to be honest. I'm not in love. I don't know if it happened via shipping or if all balms are this way, but it is grainy. And it tastes funny. I like what is DOES to my lips, but I don't like how it FEELS on my lips, or even smells for that matter. I'm not sold on it.

Lastly, as a bonus, the whitening toothpaste is divine. And I'm not kidding, I think my teeth are whiter. I hear it has a cult following and I can see why.

  16. I would love to be in this drawing. I have never been able to find a happy medium between skin too dry and skin too oily. Also I have huge dark circles under my eyes just like my mom. When I look at my mom's face I know what mine will look like if I do not find something to prevent the effects of ageing. Don't get me wrong my mom is beautiful but she has crow's feet, dark under eye circles and wrinkles on her forehead. She also has never found anything she like to prevent this. So to put it short Count me in.
