30 Days of Thanks #8- My in-laws

Thursday, November 10, 2011
So Vic's grandmother passed away this past weekend. Her funeral is tomorrow. This means all six of his siblings and their spouses and children are coming into town. {Vic is the oldest of 7!} I am so excited to see all of them! I feel very grateful to have such great in-laws who are fun to talk to, intelligent, interesting, positive people.

While it is sad that his grandmother passed, it is 95% joyful. She was reunited with her sweetheart, Arther Hope { a name we are considering if this next baby is a boy. I think Arthur is cute! Call him Art }, is free from her old age, gets to see her son who passed away a few years ago, and is bringing loved ones together to celebrate her life. Her name was Golda. She was named Golda because of her blonde curls. Blonde curls which her great-granddaughter, Lucy Jackson, inherited. I think that is something wonderful that connects me to her and for which I honor and thank her.

Vic's mother has cared for Golda and Arthur for the past 4 years. That's a dedicated and loving Mother-in-Law. That is one of the many reasons I love my Jackson Family. All 800 of them. {Or so it seems}.

How neat is it that my children literally have HOPE running through their blood?

Let the congregating and feasting begin.

  1. I love this post, and I am so glad I got to know Golda a little bit...yes, Goldilocks! I love the HOPE connection!

  2. Molly it was so wonderful to be together! And then it was over way too soon. :(

We are thankful for you and love you so much!

  3. This was a sweet post Molly, thank you! We felt the same way and are glad for the few days together. It felt like minutes!

  4. I think you should consider Golda if your baby is a girl! Cute name!
