My name is Heidi Thackeray. Like many others, I started reading your blog shortly after the passing of Lucy. I had my first baby (a girl) when I was 28 years old and she was 1 day from turning 3 years old the day you lost Lucy. I think I sat on the couch until the wee hours of the morning that first time I read about you and Lucy. Sobbing. Thinking about what if you were me? If I were you? Right then and there my heart was changed.
As I have followed your progress, I am always taken in by your words. They touch the deepest part of my heart and I think, if I were you that is how I would feel...or pretty close to it. Right down to the feisty way you talk about Peter. That is the biggest way I feel connected to you.
As I have learned more about you, I discovered that you went to Ricks college back in the day when it was still Ricks college, and that I was there the same time you were. You also know my cousin Natalie Hill (through the theatre world I assume).
A little about me? I live in Kaysville, Ut on the West side. I love living in the country- a quiet place with lots of room for my kids to run. I have 3 children, 1 girl and 2 boys. My second son and I shared a near death experience during child birth so after a scary third pregnancy following his birth, our family is now complete. I love to write, I love music, would love to be able to really sing (not just in the shower/car), I love the flowers in my yard (especially my lupines that grew like monsters this year), and I love my family.
Just wanted to say keep doing what you are doing. You have so many people cheering you on! You really are amazing (but you didn’t need me to tell you that). Editor's note: Yes, yes I do need you to tell me that! And I need to tell you that, and we all need to tell each other that.
