My name is Ashley Allen and I come from Salt Lake City, Utah (born and raised!) I love it here in Utah! I came upon your blog from the Sullengers blog. She had made a post about you, and so I thought I would join. Then I saw your good grief website and totally had to check that out! I lost a VERY close friend of mine almost two years ago, so I eat up anything and everything that has to do with grieving and that could help me in anyway, because I still struggle with it to this day. I read your blog because you're so inspiring. Your posts are amazing and you're so strong in every way! Knowing how different our circumstances are helps me better deal with mine, and helps me to better understand those of others. It's really easy for me to connect with others when we have something in common, such as losing someone close to us. I know our losses are different, but the loss itself is the same.
Well, I'm just a young college student, surviving and learning to be independent! I've got a medical condition that's life threatening that I've dealt with since I was 5 days old, and that has extremely helped me become who I am today. I love to read, run and be with my family. I love spending time with my nephew! He's only 4 months old!! I'm a genuinely happy person, and I'm really friendly to everyone I meet. I am LDS as well, and understanding the plan of Salvation has really helped me with the loss in my life. It has helped me to better understand how to take care of the needs of those I come in contact with, and to have a different look on my own life and the importance of it. I really think grieving is something a lot of people sometimes feel ashamed of experiencing, so when blogging about something as serious as my loss, I do my best to make sure my readers know that it's okay to feel what you're feeling at that moment. That it's completely human, and nobody has the right to judge you!
Anyway, I just want to thank you for your blog! You've inspired me in so many ways, and I really appreciate it! :)
