Insert Cheesy Quote About Friends Here

Wednesday, August 24, 2011
But seriously. You just want to throw out one of those internet or Hallmark card quotes about friends -

Friends are God's way of apologizing to us for our families.

I've had the chance to reconnect with some really great friends this summer--
Friends who have shown their love and support unceasingly. They've been relentless! And I love them for it. Always will.

Mrs. Eden Morris. Fresh from the Ze Tejas.  Bosom buddies until the end. (Even though I lost most of my bosom) Eden and I performed in college together and I'm pretty sure I might not ever laugh more in my life than I did with her. The voice of an angel she has. And the patience of a Saint--raising 4 kids. A more positive, caring person you may never meet. And her sense of humor is kick butt. You'll get to learn more about her in my Meet My Readers section soon. She'll make you laugh, she'll make you cry, she's better than Cats.

"I'm leaning over, I'm leaning over, I'm not much taller than you. It's no big deal...act natural..."

"Stand up proud, you fool!"

"Goshdarn you, Smalls."

Miss Tracey Thompson -- straight from her music/dance/theatre and English teaching foolery in L.A. Tracey is one of the key players in the story of Molly & Vic.  Ain't nobody like my Tracey Girl. Our late night talks and crazy escapades inspired me to be better. I needed her desperately and didn't even know it. God is good.

And to all you single men out there who read my blog (I know there are hundreds of you), Tracey is single. And fierce. And amazing. Truly.

Straight from the hood in Detroit, Mr. Courtney Casper. I do believe I creamed him on our trail run. He claimed it was the altitude. Courtney is one of my very oldest friends, dating back to the 3rd grade. (We had the best teacher, Mrs. Webber). What an absolute thrill to combine two of my worlds at once. Courtney has 4 kids and one on the way and is almost done with medical school. Oh, and running a marathon soon. Who does these things? My friends.

Friends are like bras; close to your heart and there for support.

End cheesy quote.

  1. Love your quotes, but your last one really made me laugh - so true! Good friends are a must - they are there for you in everything: happy, sad, thick, and thin. Glad you seem to have some great ones!

  2. Love your shirt in the top pic - where did you get it?

BTW, stumbled across your blog, and you are brave and fabulous.

  3. I can't imagine where any of us would be without our friends.

  4. Love your friends and the realness of it all... despite the cheese. :)

  5. I love friends too! Glad to count you as one! GBH once said, "Each of us is largely the result of those people whose lives touch ours". I believe this, and am so grateful for good friends along the way!

  6. Awww! I love Eden! I'm so glad you got to see her while she was here. She is one of the people that made me really enjoy our time in TX. Oh and her kids are about the most hilarious little people I have ever babysat.

  7. Crazy small world we live in. . . I graduated from high school with Courtney Casper. He looks just the same! Just crazy!
