Concert Recap

By Molly Bice-Jackson - 2:44 PM

Since I don't know where to begin, or how to begin,  I'll just begin.

The concert was incredible.

THANK YOU to all who came and showed their support, purchased tickets, helped behind the scenes, made donations, and encouraged me. It was honestly a magical evening. Would you agree?
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter.

I learned a lot from this experience. Next year, I will do a few things differently, but for the most part, things went very smoothly.

If I had one regret (besides not singing my very best because my throat got clogged with emotion), it is that Vic was not recognized enough. He was not mentioned enough on the program, in the spoken word, on the stage, etc, etc.

So please take a moment and stand up at your computer and give him a round of applause.

He was the hero of the evening. He took the entire day off of work and did everything from setting up chairs, to helping unload the truck full of sound equipment, to printing off the ticket list, to setting up food, placing flowers, greeting people at the door, helping people find seats, setting up the projector for the slideshow, and a million things in between.

To quote someone who attended the concert:

"Last night was a night that I will never forget. When Molly sang people were moved to their feet and she had a standing ovation for about 2 entire minutes. Her voice was strong and her spirit reached out and touched each one of us with power... and love and stunning hope for better days that will come. I am so glad that I was at the very first concert. I was affected by it deeply and so very impressed.  They had all their bases covered and the night was very IMPRESSIVE!!!!! I laughed. I cried. I felt mountains move and I heard angles sing. I can't wait until next year I want to do all I can to help raise money for the event and the charity. I will even sweep the floors just to be able to help in any way that I can. BRAVO Molly, Vic and BRAVO LUCY!!!!"
Go HERE to see some great photos of the evening.

Here is the song and slide show from the evening (I'll post a copy of me singing the song a little later).

I'll also be sharing more footage from the evening in the coming weeks.

THANK YOU! It was a huge success and evening I will NEVER forget.

  9. :( Was so sad we weren't there. But my family was. Hopefully you got the message from Vic that they were there & hopefully you felt my love through them. They all said it was wonderful & amazing & if you do it again, they will be there. My sister wrote a blog post about it:

I can't imagine how moving it must have been to actually be there in the presence of these incredible families, watching you sing that song...wow. 16. Molly, it was BEAUTIFUL.

Everything about that night was perfect.

I could not believe I recognized almost all of these little children... Seeing Daxton first brought such a beautiful warm feeling to my heart - it was like seeing close family... I felt so much love for him! I realized how incredibly strong my bond is with all those who are walking that path.. And then, as I watched the rest, my heart completely broke.. for all of them.
    ...all of us.

I had to cover my mouth, I was crying so hard.

You and Vic are such incredible people. My heart is still full. THANK YOU. Thank you.

  19. The concert was AMAZING! I loved it! We sat behind the designated section for the angel families. During the slide show there was a mother just sobbing and her husband and other family members comforted her. It very touching and brought me to tears. I have since thought so much about this mother and prayed for her! What you are doing is truly spectacular! I can't wait for next year!

  21. This is a beautiful beautiful song!! And I can only imagine you singing it even more beautifully (although I can't think of what it must have cost you to sing it without breaking down in tears)! Of course I'm sitting here crying with you, I would have soooo loved to be there at the concert and see you and Vic in action! Thank you both for doing soo much and making something strong and wonderful out of such a big trial! You're the best! I bet Lucy is up there in the sky taking care of all our kids that are there waiting and they were all sitting there in first line listening and Lucy saying "That's MY mummy!" all proud. Lots and lots of hugs and kisses (although we don't know each other in person) to you and Vic!
