A Little Help From My Friends

By Molly Bice-Jackson - 10:08 PM

I'm gearing up to do a big blog makeover.

And I've been thinking.

I want a new blog name.

I sent a call out on facebook last night soliciting ideas and got some feedback (I was mostly told my ideas were dumb. That's what friends are for).

Which also got me thinking (a dangerous pastime, I know....)

I'm not sure how successful my last "blogtest" was (is that what you call a blog contest?), but I'm going to try for another one. Completely selfish reasons, yes.

What should I call my blog?!

Runners thus far:
-Molly Writes
-Action Jacksons
-From Me to You

And...I think that's it. I often lie in bed (lye in bed? I try not to lie to Vic while we're in bed), wait, I think it's I often lay in bed--and random blog titles come to me. Have I ever written them down? No. And do they apply to my blog specifically? Usually not. But in the moment, I think they are pretty clever. They are usually stupid one-liners. And I can't even think of any now. Idiot! Gosh.

The question now is what does the winner get? I mean, wiener?

That makes me think...

Maybe the wiener should get a hot dog.

As a side note, these photos of Peter are for Paul:

Don't let the photos distract from the task at hand; to rename my blog into something wonderful, memorable, witty, clever, fitting, amazing, fantastic, appropriate, dazzling and stupendous.

No pressure.

Go.

  5. Hey Molly,

I'm one of those random people you don't know who read your every post :) Just wanted to say I liked your Beauty and the Beast line hidden in this post (and the Napoleon Dynamite one, but mostly the Beauty and the Beast one- that's one of my absolute favorite Disney movies!). I'll keep thinking about your blog title...I'm not the most creative when it comes to that sort of stuff, but I'll give it a shot!

    Good luck :)

Park It (or anything else to do with parking as a nod to Park City)
    Neverland

Thanks for letting a stranger play! Love your blog!

  17. i love that outkast song, miss jackson. the only problem is you're mrs. jackson.

    anyway, my vote is

"Miss Jackson. I am for real."

or maybe just "I am for real"

pick me, but don't send me a hot dog because I live far away and I don't eat meat anyway.

  18. Miss Jackson if you're nasty.

    Just kidding.

  19. I am one of those random stangers that happened upon your blod about 18 months ago, what a journey and a pleasure. Why not go close to the theme for the year

Heaven reaching out and touching Earth or visa versa?

Are you one of the lost boys?

Peter and Lucy to the rescue!

I will keep meandering, thanks for everything you do, much appreciated more then you can imagine!

  20. Ok, 3rd and last try to post my ideas... I hope it works this time because i want a hot dog! I had also thought of The Jackson Chronicles; I see someone else likes it as well.

    Love and Light

    Love, Light, and Clever Insight
(with a Jackson Family subtitle of some sort)

The Spaces In-between; reading between the lines of life and lovingness, perspectives by Molly & Vic

I know these are cliche, but REALLY, reading your blog brings so much love, light, and perspective into my own life. Those are the words I think of!

    ATTACK OF THE JACKSONS

hmmm, I had a few more when I "thought" I posted last night, but I can't remember them now.

Bella Nutella, and other wonderful things

  21. Hey Molls,

    My suggestions are

Molly Go Lightly (I'm sure you get the Holly Golightly reference....I like how the word play goes...but it could be lost on a lot of people).

    Or Good Golly Miss Molly

And I also like the above suggestion of Along Came Molly.

    Those are my votes!

  22. To explain my previous suggestion. Your heart has been broken... and yet still beats. What your heart has been through will forever color the way you view the world and everything in it.

God bless you Molly Jackson you and your 'heart with a view'.

    ReplyDelete
  23. My suggestion is "From Here to There" With some kind of subtitle like "love and laugh with the Jacksons" or something much more clever :) The boy is so handsome! Reminds me of my Noah!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oooh, I know I already commented and I promised to come up with something, but I just love the "Second Star" or the "Roses in December" one that Megan suggested...good and subtle titles, yet meaningful and personal to you.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I don't have any suggestions, at least nothing that would top what has already been suggested! I'm not good at stuff like that and my blog has had the same title (and my husband had to come up with that!) for years.

But I wanted to tell you that you crack me up and when I read your post today it brightened my day. And I was indeed totally distracted by Peter's cuteness. I just love his grin!

We'd still love to get together and play in the snow, if we can find a weekend when someone in our household isn't sick!

  26. first off, LOVE your blog....
    how about,
"the second star to the right"
and then under it, still have your saying, "...there is hope smiling brightly before us"

    ReplyDelete
  27. I like The Jackson Chronicles as someone else suggested because of your children's names and The Chronicles of Narnia. I also like the references to Peter Pan. Good luck! I have to say though, I love your current subtitle "there is hope smiling brightly before us" it always cheers my heart.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Going with the Peter Pan theme:

A Little Bit of Pixie Dust

Second Star to the Right (a couple others have already mentioned this)

    Sewing Shadows

I'll let you know if I think of any non Peter Pan ones!

You don't have to post this comment. I just didn't know what other way to get this to you. I love your blog girl. I hope this is a great year for you sweetie.
