30 Days of Thanks #18

Friday, November 20, 2009
I'm thankful for the internet. At my former job, as Director of the Boys and Girls Club in Park City, we had an internet safety program. One of the cute characters who taught the kids to avoid spam, pornography, identity theft and so forth, was a little gal named Nettie. I loved that program and felt it taught the kids extremely valuable tools to save them from horrific addictions and other very real dangers. I now always think of the internet as Nettie. I'm so thankful for her. Through Nettie, and her incredible gift of NETworking, I have met all of you. Through Nettie I have been strengthened, entertained, blessed, connected, inspired, touched, informed, and reminded. I hope you enjoy what Nettie shared with me this morning:

Sooo....you heard it. What are you thankful for?

  1. Hi Molly- I frequent your blog almost every day. I should leave more comments for you because you inspire me so often. I have really enjoyed your 30 Days of Thanks. This was a very thought- provoking video... I have SO much to be thankful for. I won't include the whole list.

    Eternal Families
    The Gospel of Jesus Christ
    Children Laughing
Long Distance Calling... just to name a few.

Have a blessed and thankful day!

  2. I'm thankful for you Smolls! Loved this little video! My sister was so inspired by it that she put it on her facebook page. Love you!!!

  3. My husband has a neuromuscular degenerative disease and it is taking away many of the functions we do without thinking (walking, swallowing, everything really) and I am grateful for everyday I have had him with me and each day he is here to teach our children with me.

  4. I don't hear your voice, but at the same time, in my mind, I do, and I am thankful for the changes in your voice that show your heart being open to all things...grief, passion, compassion, joyfullness, delight...and on and on.

  5. Great vid - I hadn't seen it yet. I am going to do a Thanksgiving post & be more specific, but I hear you on the sleep thing. I am thankful for more than 3 hours of uninterrupted slumber.
I'm with you on the "nettie" thing as well. Holy cow - what did I do w/o the net?
I'm extra thankful for my sweet hubby as well.
And, yes, I am thankful for this trial of almost a year w/o a job. I sure don't take as many things for granted.

  6. I think the comment left from Jan's Blog is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read. Well expressed.

I am thankful for my son.

  7. I am thankful for you and your blog. I have never met you, but you have inspired me and changed my life. I have been a better mother because of you. Thank you!

  8. I'm thankful for the internet and blogs and I'm especially thankful for my family.

  9. And actually, I'm thankful that Eclipse will be released this summer instead of next November. I'm so thankful that New Moon was so much better than Twilight.

  10. I am thankful for
-modern day medicine (motrin to be exact for the moment)
    -baby monitors
-the comfort that comes from above
and many more things...but those are the main ones for today :)
Love you Molly! I am very thankful to have you as a friend!

P.S. my favorite thing that I heard yesterday was: "some people complain that roses have thorns and others give thanks that thorns have roses."
