30 Day of Thanks #27

By Vic - 2:02 PM

I just got off the phone with Molly. She is on a run with Peter so I am taking a moment in between clients to throw in a comment on why I am thankful. There is of course not enough time or space to put it all down here, nor do I think I even recognize all I should be grateful for, so today at this moment I will say I am thankful for Molly. She is a wonderful woman. I am lucky to be married to her. She adds SO much to my life.

To choose one of the ways in which she adds to my life: I am thankful that she has chosen to record our lives. I am so happy we have all the posts about Lucy during her lifetime. I have on occasion taken the time to reread the posts chronicling our grief - it has helped me to remember the experiences we have had with all of this. Molly is so open about all she experiences. It is a big help to me - I tend to not share so much. Molly helps me recognize and work through my feelings. More than anything I feel like Molly's blogging has helped to share our testimony, our personal witness about what is important and what is true. And that means we continue to honor the life of our sweet Lucy. I feel a duty to Lucy and to my Heavenly Father to do that. Thank you Molly for taking care of the most important things in our life. It gives purpose to work when I know that Molly is taking care of Lucy, of Peter, of so much that is of real eternal value.

What a blessing to have a companion like Molly. I'm grateful to Heavenly Father for sending her my way. And I am grateful to Molly for be willing to take a ride with me down the PCH in that old CJ-5 with no doors and no top, and then being adventurous enough to jump in the Pacific at 11:00pm on July 10 2003. It was a great way to begin a relationship. I love you!

  2. You truly are blessed by her, as she is blessed by you. I believe you were brought together not just for each other, but to be Lucy's parents. You were blessed to have her in your care until she was returned to Heavenly Father, who loves her in ways we can't even percieve. Lucy was blessed to be with you two, and now Peter is blessed and it's exciting watching to see what that is going to be. Love to all of you!

  6. Vic- this is so beautiful! I was especially touched by your clarity and recognition of Molly taking care of the things that have eternal value- your little ones. You worded that so perfectly- that is really what having a mom at home means.
